WHY SHOULD YOU WAX MY VEHICLE?
1) WAX MAKES YOUR CAR SHINE
No matter how often you wash your car, it will never shine the same as if the cleaning process is complemented with a high-quality waxing product. Besides, it will provide that new car look, and you’ll feel better about yourself when driving it around town.
2) EASIER TO GET CLEANED UP
A quality wax protects your car paint in many ways. Bird poop and other stuff that generally gets stuck to the paint won’t anymore because it will remain on the wax layers, so when the time to wash your vehicle comes, all that stuff will wipe away very quickly, helping to save time and money.
3) WAX PROTECTS YOUR CAR FROM CONTAMINANTS
As soon as you take you car out of the garage, it is exposed to many corrosive elements that can seriously harm your vehicle’s paint, such as acid rain and others. However, if your vehicle is protected with a good wax layer, it will act as a barrier between the paint and the contaminant, preventing it from affecting the car’s paint.
4) PREVENT ROCK AND STONE DAMAGE
When driving a car, it is inevitable sometimes to avoid tiny rocks and stones that can cause damage to the paint if it is not protected. A premium waxing product will create a slippery surface, reducing the impact from tiny objects that make contact with your car by causing them to slide off rather than hit directly, damaging the paint.
WHY GLAZE IS GOOD FOR CAR PAINT?
A glaze is a shine-enhancing product that is applied after polishing to fill in any remaining imperfections that polishing may not be able to tackle, adding even more depth when wax is applied over it. By filling in microscopic imperfections, light is more evenly and symmetrically reflected, giving the car a clean, crisp, deep, and lustrous shine that a simple polish and wax just can’t match. Now, while you may be thinking glazes are used only before car shows or during major details, consider one of the more common uses of a glaze… body shops use glazes to restore shine and eliminate hazing after compounds are used to remove heavy scratches, orange peel, and more paint problems. To that same extent, by glazing after polishing you’re only adding more of a shine to your car’s finish.
Paint Protection Sealant
WHY IS PAINT SEALANT IMPORTANT?
Paint sealants are a synthetic car wax, whilst they do a similar job to a traditional car wax in that a paint sealant will protect your cars paintwork finish, they do have some unique properties of their own.
Made from synthetic ingredients as opposed to natural waxes and plant extracts, the durability of paint sealants is enhanced to upwards of 6 months. Secondly surface tension is reduced with paint sealants, whilst a car wax does a good job in shunning dirty water from paintwork, paint sealants shed water and grime far better meaning your car stays cleaner for longer longer, and it’s easier to maintain on future washes.
Overall protection offered by paint sealants from UV damage, acid rain and industrial fallout is higher than offered by a traditional car wax. Paint sealants offer a different level of gloss, more a glass like reflectivity than the deep warm glow offered by a car wax, however paint sealants do excel in bringing out the flake in modern metallic/pearlescent finishes, leading them to be a popular choice with owners of silver vehicles.
PAINT SEALANTS – THE ULTIMATE IN PAINT PROTECTION
So when would we recommend you use synthetic paint sealants rather than a car wax? A car wax is great for looks no doubt about that, for the deepest wettest looking shine we would always recommend a traditional car wax but paint sealants do offer a more durable protective layer, making them more suitable to applications where long lasting protection is key, such as on “daily drivers” or for vehicles that are parked or driven in harsh environments. Some detailing enthusiasts use a car wax for the summer months and a sealant for the winter months where they want minimal upkeep or on larger vehicles where regular waxing is a big task to undertake.
